We were walking down Kula Kahiko with our two dogs on leash, when a dog burst out of the open gate and aggressively approached our dogs, lunging, barking, and showing teeth. I yelled at the dog "No! Go Home!" and swatted at it with my walking stick (but did not make contact). As we tried to pass, two more dogs came out and aggressively approached us. Finally 3 adults came out of the house and called the dogs back into the gate. The gate even when closed has a large gap that allows the dogs to exit.
